Legal Requirements

As well as having some of THE best places to marry on the planet, we are very fortunate that there is no legal residency requirement in Scotland. This makes life very easy for couples coming from outwith the UK to get married in Scotland. They can even get married the day they arrive if they want to! (Not that we'd recommend this, but it's true - providing all of their Marriage paperwork has been previously lodged in good time of course!)

The legal procedures are fairly straight forward and we will guide and assist you through all of the legalities to ensure that everything is in place when you get here.

Scottish Wedding Ceremony by Scottish Wedding Consultants
Types of Ceremony

There are various types of ceremony you can have depending on your beliefs and circumstances and with your input and ideas, we can arrange the perfect marriage ceremony for you.

Religious Ceremonies

These can of course take place in a Scottish Church, but we can also arrange for a Minister to marry you in another venue such as a Castle, Country House, Hotel, Boat, Lighthouse etc etc. Providing the place is respectful to the Church, we can usually arrange a religious ceremony for you just about anywhere!
