I miss Scotland!
After six months of planning, everything Todd and I had planned came to fruition! The wonderful day went by WAY too quick.
Todd and I, along with our family and friends, descended upon the sleepy village of Dirleton, Scotland with visions of a fairy tale wedding in a Scottish castle.
From the first glimpse of the castle, we knew our wedding dreams were about to come true. Dirleton Castle was everything Todd and I could have hoped for. And we couldn't have done any of this with out Yvonne and Scottish Wedding Consultants.
When Todd and I got engaged, we knew two things that we wanted in a wedding. We wanted a small wedding, just family and close friends, and we wanted it in a castle.
The first wasn't that hard to work out, but the thought of a castle wedding seemed like only a dream. Todd and I have always shared an interest in Celtic and medieval history, so a castle wedding was something we had hoped for. After searching for places in Ireland and Scotland, I came across the Scottish Wedding Consultants web site.

I e-mailed them with questions, and received a response the next day! Yvonne was extremely helpful, and offered a basic quote for a wedding in Dirleton Castle.
We couldn't believe it! It was cheaper than most women pay for their wedding dress! It didn't take us long to make the decision to get married in Scotland, especially once we realized the piper is included in the quote (both Todd and I love the bagpipes).
Over the next six months, I think I e-mailed Yvonne about once a day (no joke), and she was immediate with her responses. She was patient even with my most obscure and ignorant questions!
We got everything arranged, from getting a steamer for my wedding dress to hiring a taxi for Todd and I once we arrived in Edinburgh. She went above and beyond her duties, and there seemed like there wasn't anything she wouldn't at least try to do for us (I could swear she planned the beautiful weather on our wedding day!).
The big day came, and Yvonne was there to make sure everything went of with out a hitch.

IT was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! The weather was cooperative, the photographer and videographer (Roman and Steve respectfully) were excellent. Ian the piper was charismatic and played the pipes beautifully.
At one point during pictures after the ceremony, He went into the vaults of the castle and played. The sound of the bagpipes echoed off of the walls, and you had no idea where he was.
Everyday I wish I could go back and relive that day. It was the most magical day of my life.
Todd and I have Yvonne and Scottish Wedding Consultants to thank for making our wedding day a day we will remember always.
